Heya guys,
This will be my last post on Welcome to... for a while: however I might be posting on my other blog; http://ledwrong.blogspot.com/. The reason being I will be in Vietnam for an age, and aquiring internet access might be a bit hard.
Though I trust the other authors to keep this blog up to date and running in my absense.
So, on other thoughts, I will be missing a few awesome things;
The b'day/parties of 3 amazing people.
An evangelism training day inc. Jesus all about life. http://www.jesusallaboutlife.com.au/
An icecream party in science
Important family/friends/youthgroup bonding time.
So while I am away, you guys have fun, keep healthy, bond, and, most importantly, check out Jesus all about Life! I trust DC's next post will be on this subject.
Yours,
Ellipsis.
Over and out.

..
So readers:
FINALLY, FINALLY, OUR DEBATE ON MY NAME HAS FINISHED!!
I CHANGED IT!!
STOP MAKING COMMENTS ABOUT IT!!
Also, since we're on the subject,
if you could have a name, (a real one, like, Jessi) what would you have?
it cannot be your actual name
max is 3.
So, to start off, I would personally prefer it if it was Hannah, or Rachel.
So, whatdo you say?

Nicknames
Heya guys
So theres been some contraversy lately because Otaku changed her name. I won't bore you with the details, but its getting confusing, you people with asian names. Not that I have anything against asian nicknames, its just that everything else is in english, as this is an english blog, and it would be easier and less confusing to have english names.
So here I am today with DC complaining on my heels about there being nothing to post about, and refusing to do posts about her life or the weather, and me having nothing to talk about or noone to complain to. Apart from you guys of course, but that won't do.
So now I've decided to find a PROPER english name for Otaku. Here are a few options;
1. Swathi - It may sound indian, but its actually a star. It means Lucky.
2. Southwind - almost non-existand were we are, it blows from the hotter, more Northerly areas.
3. Paulinca - this came up on a nickname site. First suitable one so far,
4. Hirundo - The first latin name of a Welcome Swallow
5. Puddles - Somehow I had to add this in...
6. Koolaid - A nickname for someone who dyes their hair or layers, etc.
7. Dorkey - this also came up on a nickname site. I thought it was hilarious.
8. Tush
9. Falafel
10. Oreo
11. Gir
12. Twii Ment
13. Field - This came up as Otaku's perfect nickname. She is sort of plain and stretched out...
14. Jin - This was from lostpedia. It said 'korean guy' next to it....
15. Raft - Do you float?
16. Popoff - a very popular, and yet not so well known, name
17. Jaycee - I like this.
18. _)-,.-~*'¨¯¨'*·~-.¸ - its cool.
19. Tobias - My favorite name
20. Otaku - We liked this the way it is. If you don't accept any of the others, take this back, please.
There you have it. My favorite was probobly Southwind. Yes.
So take a look Otaku, consider.
Yours,
Ellipsis.

My name:
Hello..
1.
STOP TALKING ABOUT MY NAMES.
2.
NO, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE THE POLL ABOUT MY NAME.
3.
Whatever my name is has NO association with you, so stop commenting about it.
4.
I did A random thingo on Ellipsis:
According to Wiki (oh dear wiki)
Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from the Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission") is a mark or series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word or a phrase from the original text. An ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in speech, an unfinished thought or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence (aposiopesis).
The most common form of an ellipsis is a row of three periods or full stops (...) or precomposed triple-dot glyph (…). Forms encountered less often are: three asterisks (***),one em dash (—), and multiple en dashes (––).
The triple-dot punctuation mark is also called a suspension point, points of ellipsis, periods of ellipsis, or colloquially, dot-dot-dot.
um...o.k.
Ellipsis is an acoustic trio band in Philadelphia.
In linguistics, ellipsis (from the Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission") or elliptical construction refers to the omission from a clause of one or more words that would otherwise be required by the remaining elements.
An ellipsis is also often used in mathematics to mean "and so forth." In a list, between commas, or following a comma, a normal ellipsis is used, as in:
To indicate the omission of values in a repeated operation, an ellipsis raised to the center of the line is used between two operation symbols or following the last operation symbol, as in:
The latter formula means the sum of all natural numbers from 1 to 100. However, it is not a formally defined mathematical symbol. Repeated summations or products may similarly be denoted using capital sigma and capital pi notation, respectively:
(see factorial)
Normally dots should only be used where the pattern to be followed is clear, the exception being to show the indefinite continuation of an irrational number such as:
,
or a rational number such as
Sometimes, it is useful to display a formula compactly, for example:
Another example is the set of zeros of the cosine function.
There are many related uses of the ellipsis in set notation.
The diagonal and vertical forms of the ellipsis are particularly useful for showing missing terms in matrices, such as the size-n identity matrix
The use of ellipsis in mathematical proofs is often deprecated because of the potential for ambiguity.

Otaku (M/A) Time! (or is it N/A?)
Heyas!
So, bit lost on topics. Decided to continue the fase. Note; please noone take offense for my relations on this topic.
So, first to the most reliable (it lied) source of information; wikipedia! AKA, the wikiMO. (no really kids, don't get into this habit.)
wikiMO proudly states;
Otaku (おたく/オタク?) is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games.
so far so correctly stated. Seriously, that's our Otaku.
Unpleasant stereotypes about otaku prevail in worldwide fan communities, and some anime fans express concern about the effect these more extreme fans can have on the reputation of their hobby (not unlike sentiments in the comic book and science fiction fandoms).
science fiction is more than a fandom. continuing...
Whilst in English geek can suggest a person who may be socially awkward but who is also intelligent and may be fairly "normal" aside from their interest in certain typically 'geekish' pursuits (video games, comic books, computers, etc.), otaku is closer in connotation to the English nerd, but the closest English-language analogue to otaku is probably the British English term anorak. Both of these English-language terms have more emphatically negative connotations of poor social skills and obsessive interest in a topic that seems strange, niche or boring to others
Hahaha.
Anyway...
The current Prime Minister of Japan, Taro Aso is an otaku.
Dosn't make you feel any better, huh?
But here is something from the Urban Dictionary;
Otaku is the honorific word of Taku (home).
Otaku is extremely negative in meaning as it is used to refer to someone who stays at home all the time and doesn't have a life (no social life, no love life, etc)
...
Usually an otaku person has nothing better to do with their life so they pass the time by watching anime, playing videogames, surfing the internet (otaku is also used to refer to a nerd/hacker/programmer).
otaku no jinsei ha yabai na! (it sucks to live the life of an otaku!)
And some online 'before and after' s, which are called 'positive's and negative' s.
Positive: "Oh, wow! Check it out: Neck-through, Floyd Rose locking tremolo and an optional push/pull coil tap!" (slaps forehead and laughs) "Man, I am such a guitar otaku, aren't I?"
Negative: "Stay clear of Toshi, man. He's such a RQ otaku, always online. Bet he's never actually even talked to a real-live girl before... You never know when he's gonna' snap, right?"
okay...
In Japan the word "otaku" has become taboo because of Miyazaki Tsutomu who went on a toddler murdering spree in the 80's, video taping the young girls he had murdered from an obsession with lolicon (female pedophilic manga).
Okay..... I will not go on.
So from henceforth, from the beginning of my '...' time, I have revealed the 'true' meanings of names.
But lo and behold!
For some strange reason these names (well, most of it) don't directly relate to my fellow 'journalists' here.
Oh well.
See you next time!
Ellipsis.

Enough of the fricken jap!
Hey alls!
If you're annoyed at the incredbly boring argument we are having, check out my cooler, more sensible (snicker) blog, at http://ledwrong.blogspot.com/. Actually, check it out anyway. And don't forget to comment. Commenting is important to let the author know; 1, what you thought of their writing. 2, What you learnt of their writing, and 3, that you're actually reading.
And thats why you should by; Mount Franklins!
New; Dehydrated H2O, just add water!
Anyho.
Uh, nobody's seemingly mentioned that its the second day of Spring peoples! Woot! Acompanying that, today also celebrates;
